孩子们会怎么写?
Cellphones are very important in our daily life. More and more children bring their phones to school. At school, students use cellphones to pass notes, read novels and listen to music. Sometimes cellphones ring during the class. Some people think it’s convenient for students to keep in touch with their parents, so schools should allow students to take cellphones to school.
In my opinion, bringing a cellphone to school will affect the students’ attention, so students shouldn't bring cellphones to school. They should focus on the lessons and other activities in school. (95 words)
我教托福考生怎么写?
l Personally, I am in favor of the statement that children are wasting too much time on technological products.
l “Technological progress is like an axe in the hands of a pathological criminal.” Albert Einstein, a well-known scientist, once pointed out the side-effects of technology advancement. Indeed, never have we witnessed such a huge improvement in technology during the past few decades. Electronic products, such as cellphones and computers, facilitate our modern life, bringing plenty of conveniences and comforts. But people, especially the young members in society, tend to be tempted and “enslaved”. It is not rare to see a young boy/girl holding a cellphone or sitting in front of a computer, being obsessed with playing games. The visual effects, plot designs and game modes are so fascinating that he/she would fixate on the screen all day long. This might be the main cause why many children become nearsighted from a young age. Furthermore, too much reliance on technological devices makes children less creative. Whenever they meet a difficult task, turning to computer for certain answers would be their first choice, instead of figuring it out by themselves. The use of electronics, therefore, should be limited in one’s childhood.
l Then what else is more recommended for children? Playing outside with friends would be the top priority. By running and jumping with friends, a child exercises his/her muscles, which makes him/her more athletic. By playing ball games with friends, a child learns the meaning of cooperation and competition. By conversing with friends, a child develops his/her communicative and social skills. By shouting and laughing with friends, a child releases the stress caused by busy studies. All these benefits would not only bring short-term pleasure, but also contribute to future success in career.
l Another alternative would be toys, with which children can practice their fine motor skills. Take Claire, my niece, as an example. When she was a 6-month-old baby, I bought her a set of toy blocks as a gift. At first, she could only touch the blocks with palms. After a month or so, she could pick a block up with fingers and throw it away to find out the connection between throwing and falling. Now she is 3 years old and can easily build a tower with the blocks. Experts indicate that toy blocks are beneficial to children’s physical and intellectual development. They would build strength in children’s fingers, improve the hand-eye coordination, and stimulate imagination.
l To sum up, playing outside with friends and playing with toys would benefit children physically and mentally. In contrast, technological products are like time killers which do more harm than good. (435 words)
