　　In a statement, the line says the 2,052-passenger vessel will remain outside of the city until weather and sea conditions improve. The Carnival Inspiration is on a four-day voyage that departed Tampa on Thursday and had been scheduled to end this morning.

　　"Carnival continues to monitor the weather and will bring the ship into port as soon as it is safe to do so," the line says. "It is expected that guests will disembark the ship tomorrow morning."

　　Carnival says it is providing complimentary telephone and Web access for passengers to contact families and make alternate flight arrangements. Passengers who purchased their air transportation from Carnival will be provided with new flight schedules.

　　The delayed arrival of the ship will, in turn, delay the beginning of its next voyage. Carnival says a five-day sailing scheduled to start this afternoon and include stops in Grand Cayman and Cozumel is being revamped into a four-day voyage to Cozumel that will depart Tuesday.

　　Passengers who opt to sail on the modified itinerary will receive a pro-rated refund representing one day of their cruise fare, along with a shipboard credit representing the government fees and taxes for the scheduled call in Grand Cayman and a stipend for today's lunch. Those passengers also will receive a 20% discount toward a future three- to five-day Carnival cruise.

　　Passengers also have the option of canceling and receiving a future cruise credit equal to the fare paid for the five-day voyage. Carnival is providing passengers on the delayed cruise with contact information for Tampa area hotels.

　　"Carnival sincerely apologizes for this disruption to our guests' vacation plans," the line says.
