　　The Cambridge IGCSE Economics develops an understanding of economic terminology and principles and of basic economic theory. 　　A-level的全称是“普通教育证书”(General Certificate of Education Advanced Level)，英国高中课程，是英国全民课程体系，是英国普通中等教育证书考试水平课程，也是英国学生的大学入学考试课程。它总共有100多个科目，学制一般为两年，专业分科极为细致。虽然读此类课程的学生年龄在16-18岁之间，但决不能认为等同于我们中国学生在高中学习的课程，A-level可看作是大学的基础课，这种课程相当于我国中学最后两年的课程。

　　A-level是英语世界最成熟的高中学历课程体系，凭A-level成绩，除了可报读美国和加拿大等所有以英语为母语的大学外，还可以申请报读欧盟的任何一所大学，并与法国、德国等国本土的学历等价。

　　在澳大利亚有52所大学与学院接受CIE剑桥A-level证书，包括八大院校。而美国有572所大学与学院接受CIE剑桥A-level证书，包括所有的常春藤学校、加州理工、麻省理工、杜克大学、卡耐基梅隆大学等院校均接受A-level。所以说学习A-level不仅可以用来申请英国大学，也可以申请其他。
