范文及解析

Introduction

Opinions vary revolving recipe for professional achievements; some advocate that it is all about being competitive, whereas skeptics argue that being cooperative as a team carries more significance. In my view, the key is understanding the dynamic relationship between the two, rather than choosing one over the other.

Body paragraph 1

Standing out from the crowd should be seen as desirable for both new hires and senior staff. From a perspective of greenhands, being seen as a high-potential employee paves the way for building one’s professional brand. Peak performers in delivering the most polished reports or in mastering a new software are more likely to be remembered when a great project arises; doors are closed for those who simply do the minimum. For seasoned professionals, however, competition shifts from personal achievement to strategic impact. Without having the upper hand in company strategy-making, an executive has greater odds of losing his or her top performers migrating to more dynamic leaders. In that sense, the more senior workers win the battle of ideas, the more they convince others of their vision.

Body paragraph 2

However, being an individual contributor is not always a good thing; risk for greenhands mainly involves slipping into destructive competition—withholding information and undermining peers.This unhealthy rivalry is a pure hindrance to one’s relationships and long-term reputation in the workplace. Instead, juniors seen as helpful and easy to work with is first in line for mentorship, training and promotion when opportunities arise.In other words, cooperation turns colleagues into long-term professional support system. For a leader, fostering a cooperative culture attracts and retains top talent,since a toxic and competitive one equals a brain drain.Having burned bridges,the leaders will  find  themselves isolated and unable to marshal resources for complex projects that involve peers from sales, marketing, engineering and finance.

Conclusion

To conclude, while individual ability to win makes indispensable contributions to for one’s job offer, while the ability to align with team goals is the very formular for success and promotion. Without this bridge, the cliff edge is fast approaching.
